AXELOS has announced that as from 1 October 2016 it will no longer be necessary to hold the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification to become accredited in PRINCE2 Agile.  Instead, candidates will only be required to hold any of the following:

PRINCE2 Foundation, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), IPMA Level A® (Certified Projects Director), IPMA Level B® (Certified Senior Project Manager), IPMA Level C® (Certified Project Manager) and IPMA Level D® (Certified Project Management Associate).

This is a welcome change and will hopefully redress the poor take-up of the PRINCE2 Agile product.  PRINCE2 has always emphasised the need for tailoring to specific environments and many PRINCE2 Practitioners have already developed frameworks which incorporate an agile approach, particularly for IT projects.
