Colin Bentley is a founder of modern day project management. He is the author of over 20 books including the original edition of Managing Succesful Projects with PRINCE2, first published in 1996. PRINCE2 became the most widely adopted approach to project management and for many years Colin was the Chief Examiner.
His insights come from a long career in project management. This included the provision of consultancy advice on project management to the London Stock Exchange, Microsoft Europe, Tesco Stores, Commercial Union and the BBC.
Although he is now retired, Colin remains passionate about project management. His latest work, PM4A (Project Management for All) was written with his long-standing colleague and project management guru, Andy Britton. The new text reiterates their firm belief that sound project management is built on foundations of common sense and best practice. The method outlined is equally at home in waterfall or agile environments. It is applicable for ALL types of projects whether IT, construction, policy development, event management or anything else. Furthermore it can be used for simple or complex projects. The text bears the trademark Bentley approach of finding humour in all sorts of situations.
The new approach (well, not really new – they probably used similar ideas when building the pyramids) ticks all the boxes for Simplicity, Flexibility and Effectiveness.
